Why live with a phobia?

We all experience fear at some point. And although it is distressing it is our basic survival mechanism which occurs in response to a perceived danger or threat. It is essential for our survival and is designed to keep us safe.

However, a phobia is a persistent irrational fear of an object or a situation that is generally considered harmless. Accompanying the fear is a strong desire to avoid the feared object or situation which can make it difficult to function normally in everyday life.

Overcoming fears or phobias is something that almost all of us have been challenged with at some time in our lives. Many fears are mild to moderate and can often be overcome without much effort. However, severe phobias are set deep in the subconscious mind and can become impossible to conquer using only conscious effort and thought.

The emotional reaction is often so strong that it overwhelms our rational thoughts. This often leaves us feeling embarrassed and disempowered. Consequently, many people resist seeking help or even discussing their condition.

Happily, hypnotherapy provides an extremely effective help for these issues by teaching the mind a different way to respond to the feared object or situation.

You can easily and lastingly overcome fears and phobias with hypnosis. Such fears are extremely common, and more than 20% of people will experience a simple phobia at some time in their lives. From lifts, spiders and snakes, to heights, dentists, flying and open spaces, phobias can develop about anything.

How can I help?

If you have an excessive fear of anything, the good news is that there is a way for you to overcome them.

Hypnotherapy and the approaches I use will teach you how to detach the stimulus (trigger object/situation) from the emotional response (fear) and ‘re-programme’ the mind with a new, more realistic and comfortable response. By desensitizing and eventually removing your subconscious blocks, hypnotherapy allows your mind to work for you, regaining greater control of your life.

Hypnotherapy is one of the most successful and popular techniques known today. Below is a short list of some of the more common fears and phobias that can be helped:
